Bumble is the OG women make the first move app. For a long time, that meant only women could send the first message but they have made some updates so now men can reply to a specific prompt the woman has set. Either way, there is time limit to keep things moving. Someone must send a message within 24 hours of matching, and the other must reply within the next 24 hours. If not, the match is cancelled. Like any big app, conversations can fizzle quickly if there is no real intent behind them so be prepared for high volume swiping and matching to get to an IRL date.
